A random submission from the ancient past, a combination of somewhat exotic pop vocals and strange edm… figured I’d try and review it before I fall asleep. Not saying it’s a boring track, it’s just late right now and I’m so, so tired.
‘Into The Sky’ confused me when I first heard it. It starts with female vocals, and it’s like… wow, this is almost diva-esque, except reduced merely to flourishes throughout the track. And then you notice the music is actually a bit more experimental than you’d have expected at the outset, so it’s pretty surreal. I like to imagine it was made by people like this, it makes it that much easier to enjoy. Fast-paced bass rhythms with a touch of distortion make up the front of it, while subtle chill pads lurk in the background. The drums get cut up wildly, there is some really intense programming going on for the duration of the piece. There are occasional blasts of noise and every so often it seems like there’s a drone really deep in the mix, more like a mirage of one than anything. There’s a lot of filtering toward the end, but it is lacking in resonance so it’s as if the track just fades obscurely into an insubstantial, airy silence.
Anyway, if you’d like to hear it, you’ll find the link just below. Goodnight!
