“’MASCULINITY IS A WONDERFUL THING’ EXISTS AROUND MY DAD AND HIS DAD. BOTH MEN SPENT TIME ON THE WATER. ONE IN THE ENGINE ROOM AND ONE ABOVE IT ALL. I GUESS IT’S ABOUT HOW I LEARNED OR TRIED TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO BE A MAN ON THIS EARTH.”
I’m not a big fan of the Caps Lock option of a keyboard, but in the circumstances of this concept of masculinity it is something that somehow made sense. This record is as you can guess by reading the above information, pretty personal but yet very distant because we can’t allow showing any of our conceptual feelings over here. The vinyl has two sides, one is A and the other one is B.
On side A there is a work called ‘ GORGEOUS LUCIO’ and on side B there is ‘WE HELD OUR BALANCE’.
Both are sounding very conceptual and perhaps even a bit arty in its contents.
The two tracks are coming across like very close brothers as they go for simular same high tones, a bit of crackle but both as minimal as it can get. As if true masculinity doesn’t have any tolerance for any kind of fancy distraction. It’s like listening to very restricted emotions, disconnected from any intimacy. It isn’t really my thing, but perhaps this is one only a true follower of masculinity would understand and appreciate. Personally I like the artwork though; it fits nice with my pink wallpaper.
