I was cranky when I first opened this up. I took a nap, and carried out some biological functions and now suddenly I feel much better. A bit agitated but that is fine. I suspect it is due to the absence of nicotine.
So what is blessing our ears this evening? Ah, it is p0stm0rtem once again! This time she graces us with an EP by the name of noisebleed. Hm, this seems rather close to nosebleed but…how the fuck does one make the connection? Did the noise replace the nose? Is the nosie just bleeding generally? Is the noise even supposed to be a futuristic organ substitute? It could be a whole host of things but I digress. Either way, let’s gear up and put on our noise hard hats (because as we all know workplace safety is absolutely necessary!)!
Hm, noises indeed are abound with bleeding pain. Squeaks and blips and all sorts of goodies come piling over one another. A rather chill track, and ah! I daresay I hear the turning of knobs and the hitting of pads on some sort of noise making synthesizin beat makin machine! So we’re doin live recordings. FUCKING. SICK>
Hm and now suddenly we got some drums to go along with our blippy stabs etc in expensive pain. I guess the expensive part was the drums. HA. HA. HA. Ok, sorry. Caffeinate is having a weird day and is being rather silly. Here have a .gif of a spider to make up for it.
The next track starts off almost like thinking of a ranch or some sort of farm out on like a moon or something. Then the space things come out and terrorize the space cows because what the hell else are you going to do in space? my only sanity is my only insanity is rather pleasing to the ears. I can see where the dream pop comes into play. Oh my, then it gets even dreamier as the cows have escaped into a hidden oasis cave away from all the space nasties.
Some familiar sounds as my only insanity is my only sanity begins. The blips are getting arpeggiated. The sounds are pretty chill. Suddenly what I can only describe as a maniacal vintage computer laughing comes in. Seriously, this thing is plotting to take over. I can hear it in each ha ha and hee hee it eminates. Perhaps I am reading too much into it. Either way, quite enjoyable.
Then my personal favorite; Pain Fully Loaded wraps up this neat EP. These semi cricusy pads come in which set the overall tone, with some cymbals crashing and a general sort of underlying noise flowing underneath.
A rather relaxing EP if I do say so myself. I found myself just getting lost in the ambiance.
Definitely something to pick up, which you can here:
