The first project from threadneedle community committed to vinyl, [2×10] is collaboration between Jukka-Pekka Kervinen and Precocious Mouse, both artists working on the experimental electronics scene.
On side A of the release we are treated with the outmost respect by a minimal drone ambient work that feels like a shimmering continuation of mind altering air. How it is going out from the speakers and into the ears is a fragile progress; you would be able to hear a needle drop while this record does its thing. Not because of it being silent, but just because it creates this state in which all other surrounding sounds would become obsolete, yet a needle drop would be so out of place that it would seriously effect the pleasant experience.
So instead testing the ‘hear a needle fall in the floor’ theory; Try to lower your own heartbeat, just to let this ambience fill up the space in all it’s freedom. It’s a much more effective way of listening as the track will calm stressed people out & let meditative people meditate, without the outside disturbance. It’s a thick backdrop and yet thin as a veil from a wedding dress.
Side B is certainly not unpleasant either, in fact it might be my personal favorite side. Here the collaboration of these two artist is coming out in a exciting form. The ambient drone is getting the fine electronic experimentation that we recognize from these experimentalists; a electric machine seems to bring a awake & exciting life form into the breathe of sound. To me this is pleasant as it triggers the imagination in believing that there is some cute piece of technology driving around on its cute like able wheels through the immersive drone scene; a friendly friend that drives from one ear into the other and back again. That’s what friends are for!
