Title: Best Supermierdas
Reviewer: Alex Spalding
Alright, okay, where am I at now? I’m just, like… totally lost in this 4-track chiptune wonderworld of mierda!
Shall we dance, or should I just be silly by myself over here?
We will start with the first track, ‘Canción’, which is a bouncy chip dance that forces you to move your arms wildly in the air, tap your feet all over the floor, gyrate whatever part of your body is actually capable of performing that kind of action, whether it be ass, rotator cuff… ligament, I don’t know.
Next up is ‘ZOZOW !!!’, with it’s digitally fractured electro groove and low bit melodies chirping away like a nest full of silly little pixel birds, singing sweet songs into our ear for the morning where we throw open the windows and stare out to blue skies and green grass and rush out of the house suddenly to see if I can find any coins laying about in blocks or down sewage tunnels.
Boom, next one is ‘Cho Seung Hui’, and a simple chippy synth plays while the chip-rhythms twitch and freak out. This one’s one of the prettiest mierdas here, and makes me wistful and inspires all kinds of erratic body movements, just before it fizzles out.
Last is ‘Supermierda’, which sounds like the chips are struggling to get going so they can take over. The sounds are sparse, minimal, and silly.
Okay, just this once, I’ll give you a link… but, only if you promise you’ll click it carefully this time, so it doesn’t break:
