Caffeinate – Peabody

Have you ever seen a x-mas tree light? I mean, really looked at it? No, I mean, on a microscopic level, or further... and seen it's molecular compounds jump out at you suddenly and scream? On DMT? No? Well, it's okay, you can view the selected cover art here for Caffeinate's Peabody single and kinda get a similar effect, but without the movement, or the screaming, and I think we can agree that's for the best.

Awhile ago, I returned from a trip to San Diego, where I spent maybe 2 or 3 days sleeping on a bedroll at YIKIS’s own Adrian, aka Caffeinate’s, abode in Escondido, sun sick and broken down from a 25-hour drive without sleep, completely delirious, and probably pretty beardly. Fast forward a couple months later, and here I am, reviewing a new piece of abstract electronic stuff that he sent me! Life is a peculiar thing, sometimes. It’s like everything’s connected.

So, what’s ‘Peabody’ sound like? Tufts of clouds on a lunar surface, bellish strings or strung out bells arpeggiating, big beat drums loud in the mix, it’s a really strange sounding thing, but really cool, and alien. Could be longer, should be longer, and receive more flesh in the mix, but otherwise… it strikes, intrigues, and fades before 3 minutes.

You could hear this for yourself if you want. I’m actually posting a link this time, right below the last sentence. Just some new thing I’m trying out. Here ya go:
