Michał Turowski – Wormwood And Flame

Welcome everybody to this tour on the site where on 26th April 1986 a great disaster struck and changed life in a big part of the former Soviet Union and Europe. We are here in the city of Pripyat which is now located in the Ukraine. This used to be a lovely city until the Black Wind of the nuclear disaster took out all life in the vicinity and even poluted big part of Germany and England.

As you can see a big Sarcophagus is build around the reactor. This is done to prevent further fleeing of radiation into the environment. The Red Forest that is located directly next to the plant is sterilized and no human is allowed to enter. But slowly animals and plants are returning to these polluted soils. But lets move forward, our geigercounter is going mad!

Ladies and gentlemen, here I present to you the Duga-1 array. This huge radar array was used to send powerfull signals, most likely, including the ‘Woodpecker’ signal. For now we have walked enough and it is time too relax a bit. Let’s head to the Azure Swimming Pool.

Well that is a bummer! The swimming pool can’t be used anymore. Since no one is allowed near the building it hasn’t been taken care of for 30 years. Let’s try another place.

Here at the Polissya hotel we can at least relax a little bit. I have made some very shiny cocktails with, maybe, a bit of plutonium. After a short rest we will continue, so follow the umbrella!

After the small rest you can now play a little game of soccer at the Avanhard Stadium. Or, if you’re not the sporty spice type, take another rest on one of the tribune seats.

Now it is time to meet some of the locals. These are called the Samosely. Maybe they’ll have some nice salmon or something to drink. Just watch out for those fish with 8 legs and 12 eyes. The are pretty hostile.

Now we’ve come to the conclusion of our trip around this beautiful area. As you can see, there’s still life after people and some of it are actually people.

Thank you very much for following my umbrella and if you want some further information about the sites we’ve visited, take a look here:

The work reminds me of some of the tracks I’ve made myself under Caelicus Pugna moniker. Strechted out samples, layered and manipulated to create structered drone based tracks.
