Spartan Jet-Plex is turning 48 and the goal is “to get one donation, Bandcamp monthly sub or patron on Patreon for every year they’ve roamed this planet.”
We counted over 40 releases on the Grimalkin Bandcamp site which is an amazing output of creativity from a whole lot of artists over a very short time, and it is sure to outpace the birthday number! Especially with a bit of help from you, dear readers.

The track opens with a Charlie McCoy sample mixed with vocals in an enticing state of disorientation that we always enjoy so much. Spartan Jet-Plex’s indomitable voice starts and our heart starts quivering as if it is exposed for surgery. The ribs ache to escape the retractor and close up over the chest but they can’t, and besides the breastplate is sawn right through. Everything is laid bare in this song, Spartan Jet-Plex goes to a place that many of us can’t bear to even think about – face to face with our mortality.
The song which started out in a traditional style becomes littered with more samples and loops and beats, there are so many textures at work in our ears that we can’t be sure what is happening except that we are drawn inside with no escape. The lyrics are haunting and well-crafted, you will find that you have to listen to it more than once to reassure yourself that something so perfect really exists.
